Around Thanksgiving, Andy and I started walking. We would go to the track at Ellis. It seemed a bit far to go, but it is lit, and the one here in Thompson is not. We started off at about 5 laps, then worked our way up. We used to bring all te kids and they would run, or cheer, or pass a football. Then they started getting bored with the whole process.
This spring we decided that we would leave them home and have Amanda babysit while we walked. But I did not feel comfortable going all the way to Ellis while they were here. So we started walking at our track. We do 6 miles a day and it takes us about 45 minutes.
Andy is on a very strict diet because he is diabetic. His diabetes was way out of controll. He was over 400 lbs. And his sugar was like a roller coaster. Since November he has been put on new insulin because his numbers are more managable. He has lost 136 lbs. I, on the other hand, have lost 18. And I am at a stand still. I am sure I could cut out some sugar. I do like to have a Pop Tart every now and then. I like a Cherry Pepsi on occasion. And I have been known to buy a Peanut Butter Cup from time to time. But I don't think that would really make a difference. I hardly ever eat. Everyone says that is my problem. My body stores the energy because it doesn't know when I will feed it again. So I think my next plan of attack is to force myself to have 3 meals a day.
In the mean time, I can see the 18 lbs. And I feel better. I have more energy. I sweat like a pig when we walk, so I know it is doung something. And my skin is so much better. I know that is not something you would expect, but the sweating has cleaned out my pores. Not that I had horrible skin, people remark on my complexion. But it is so much nicer!
I have started doing crunches to tone up my tummy. I do sets of 40, I usually do it 3 times a day. I also lift 5 lb weights to tone my arms. I love the fact that the puff between my armpit and my bra has dissappeared. It really makes me happy.
So that is my regimen. Walk 6 miles a day. Lift 5lb weights to tone. And crunch! crunch! crunch!
